It’s officially time! Use these tips to get your backyard ready for summer.
The weather is warming. The days are getting longer. The kids are getting excited about school letting out. What does all of this mean? It’s time to get your backyard ready for summer! With this guide, you can create an outdoor oasis that will make you feel like you’re vacationing at your own home.
Take a look at what’s growing (or isn’t) in your outdoor areas. If you have any unwanted growth (i.e. weeds), take the time to pull them up now before they can flourish as the weather improves. Trim hedges, cut the grass, and plant annuals in any bare patches. As you work, lay new mulch to protect your plants and give you yard a fresh look.
Look for places to lounge.
Imagine relaxing in your backyard on a nice summer day. Where do you picture yourself? Take the time to give that area a little TLC. Tired outdoor furniture (including cushions!) can be revived with a fresh coat of paint. Add a few colorful outdoor pillows and some lanterns with pillar candles and you’ll create an ideal oasis!
Make upkeep minimal.
It’s time to toss any outdoor furniture that you can’t simply hose down. Consider swapping out plants that you regularly have to trim back for something that requires less maintenance. And make sure you get your shed in order. If keeping up your yard is simple, you’re a lot more likely to do it. That will keep your outdoor areas looking great and ready for relaxation all summer long!
